This is a summary representation of our terms of business. Full terms and conditions are provided with all formal quotations and contracts.

1. General

These terms and conditions apply to all work undertaken by Grays Electrical & Compliance Ltd (the "Company") for the client (the "Customer").

2. Quotations and Estimates

  • Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
  • A quotation is a fixed price. An estimate is an approximate price based on the information available and may be subject to change.
  • The Company reserves the right to amend the quotation if the Customer changes the specification or if unforeseen issues (e.g., hidden structural problems or existing unsafe wiring) are discovered during the work.

3. Payment Terms

  • For domestic works under £1000, payment is due in full upon completion of the work and presentation of the invoice.
  • For works over £1000, a deposit (typically 30-50%) may be required before materials are ordered and work commences.
  • Commercial payment terms are strictly 30 days from the date of invoice, subject to prior agreement.
  • All goods and materials remain the property of Grays Electrical & Compliance Ltd until paid for in full.

4. Certification

  • All necessary electrical certification (e.g., EIC, MEIWC) will be issued only upon receipt of full payment for the completed works.
  • Notification to Building Control (Part P), where applicable, will be processed after full payment.

5. Guarantee

  • The Company guarantees all workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of completion.
  • Materials and goods supplied are covered by the respective manufacturer's warranties.
  • This guarantee does not cover faults caused by subsequent interference, misuse, or external factors outside our control.

6. Access and Delays

The Customer must provide reasonable access to the property to allow the work to be completed during normal working hours unless otherwise agreed. If our engineers are delayed or cannot access the site due to the Customer's failure to provide access, a call-out or standing time fee may be charged.
